My philosophy

of education, inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, emphasizes the unique potential and competence of each child, advocating for a learning journey led by the children themselves. My approach aligns with viewing children as active participants in their own education, capable of making decisions about their learning paths, and acknowledging that every child has a distinct way of learning.

The Reggio Emilia approach places a strong emphasis on dialogue, understanding that communication is a fundamental aspect of learning. By fostering an environment where children can express their thoughts, ask questions, and explore ideas collaboratively, you support their development in a holistic manner.

Integrating my Japanese heritage into this philosophy adds a layer of cultural richness. The Japanese spirit of cherishing harmony, or "和wa," complements the Reggio Emilia approach by fostering a peaceful, respectful, and cooperative learning environment.

My philosophy to children:

I focus on dialogue, small group work, open-ended resources, play-based learning, creative self-expression, project experience that emerge from the children's interests, curiosities and ideas. Because children learn most effectively through social interactions and play. I truly believe that every child has own unique languages (verbal and non-verbal) and, I respect and embrace all to promote love of learning.

My philosophy to the families:

Reggio approach sees families as the children’s first educator/teacher and thus I give my highest regards to the families. I respect families as children’s first and most important educator. Hence, I believe that family involvement is essential for children's well-being and development. Accordingly, through open and respectful communication, I make every effort to ensure that I develop secure and trustable relationship to work toward children’s best learning environment and outcomes together.
